She named you Donna. That’s what the adoption agency
reported to me, with the non-identifying information I had received. Non - identifying
means no information that could lead to finding an original birth certificate
or a clue as to where I came from, who I may have been, who my first mother
was. I am an adopted child. I am also a birth mother who experienced the pain,
loss that my first mother, my birth mother must have. And I am an adoptive
mother, finally allowed to experience what it is to raise children, to be a mom. Yes, I have lived on all three sides of the
adoption triad. I take the reader on this journey in my memoir, She Named You
Donna.
What side of the triad do you live? This is a place to tell
your story as I tell mine.
